Why does the date change when I convert?
Because zones span more than a day's worth of offsets. Auckland is 21 hours ahead of Los Angeles for part of the year, so a Monday morning meeting in one is Sunday afternoon in the other. The page marks the shift rather than leaving you to notice it.
Does it handle daylight saving?
Yes, per zone and per date — which is the only correct way, since the northern and southern hemispheres change at opposite times and some zones do not change at all. Convert a date in July and one in January between the same pair and the difference will often not match.
