Work Hours Calculator
How many hours did I work?
Start, finish, break — for one shift or a whole week. Totals in hours and minutes and in decimal hours, with overnight shifts handled and nothing sent anywhere.
How this is worked out
- Everything is computed in the browser. No timesheet you type here is uploaded, stored or logged.
- Times are treated as clock readings, not instants, so a daylight-saving night does not add or remove an hour from a shift.
Questions people ask
The things that come up about work hours calculators, answered plainly.
How do I calculate hours worked?
Subtract the start from the finish, then take off unpaid breaks. 09:00 to 17:30 with a 30-minute lunch is 8 hours — 8.0 in decimal. The page does it per row and totals the week.
What about a shift that runs past midnight?
Enter it as it happened: 22:00 to 06:00. An end earlier than its start is read as the next day, giving eight hours rather than a negative sixteen.
What are decimal hours?
Hours with minutes as a fraction — 7 hours 45 minutes is 7.75. Payroll systems almost always want this form, and it is what the page copies.
