How much overtime is that worth?
Hours split into regular, time-and-a-half and double time on the rule you pick, with the pay for each band and the total.
Questions people ask
The things that come up about overtime calculators, answered plainly.
When does overtime start?
Under US federal law, after 40 hours in a workweek, at 1.5× the regular rate. Some states add a daily threshold — California starts at 8 hours a day and doubles past 12. The EU regulates weekly hours as a cap rather than a premium.
Can daily and weekly overtime both apply?
Yes, but not to the same hour. The page applies daily thresholds first and then the weekly one to what remains as regular, which is the order that avoids double-counting.
