Retirement Age Calculator

When can I retire?

The date you reach the age you are planning around, how long there is to go, and the same figure for a few ages either side of it.

How this is worked out

  • This is arithmetic, not advice: it turns a birth date and an age into a date, and knows nothing about your contributions or your scheme.
  • Fractional ages work, so a scheme age of 66 years and 6 months can be entered as 66.5.

Questions people ask

The things that come up about retirement age calculators, answered plainly.

Why is there no country to pick?

Because a list of state pension ages is wrong twice over: every one is a moving target that gets amended before it lands, and any list short enough to ship covers a small, wealthy fraction of the world. The arithmetic never needed it — put in the age your own scheme uses and the answer is right for you.

What would retiring earlier or later look like?

The page shows the date for several ages either side of your target, and how many days each one moves it. Two more years is usually a much larger number of days than people expect.
