What is the epigenetic figure?
A 2020 study fitted DNA methylation in dogs and humans to human_age = 16 × ln(dog_age) + 31. It tracks molecular ageing rather than life stage, and gives an older answer for young adult dogs. Both numbers are shown because both are defensible.
How long do dogs live?
Around 15 years for small breeds, 13 for medium, 11 for large and 9 for giant. The page shows how far through a typical lifespan your dog is on that basis.
