Time Difference Calculator
The gap between two times, to the second
Two clock times or two full timestamps, and the difference in hours, minutes and seconds — including the overnight case, where the end time is smaller than the start.
How this is worked out
- A bare time with no date is resolved against today in your selected zone.
- Overnight spans are detected rather than reported as negative.
Questions people ask
The things that come up about time difference calculators, answered plainly.
How do I work out a time that runs past midnight?
Enter it as it happened — 22:00 to 06:00. An end earlier than its start is read as the next day, which gives eight hours rather than a negative sixteen.
Can I compare times in two different zones?
Yes. Include the offset or zone in each field — 09:00+01:00, or a full ISO timestamp — and the difference is measured between the two real instants rather than the two clock faces.
