Holiday Difference Calculator

Which public holidays fall between two dates?

Every holiday in the span, named and dated, with the ones that moved off a weekend marked — and a count of how many working days they actually cost.

How this is worked out

  • Easter-linked holidays are computed with the Meeus/Jones/Butcher algorithm, so Good Friday and Easter Monday are right for any year.
  • A holiday landing on a weekend costs no working day; it is listed separately rather than counted.

Questions people ask

The things that come up about holiday difference calculators, answered plainly.

Why do some holidays show two dates?

Because the date and the day off are not always the same. When Christmas falls on a Saturday, the UK takes the following Monday and the US takes the Friday before. Both dates are shown, with the observed one used for the count.

Are regional holidays included?

No — these are the national or federal sets only. Scotland, Bavaria, individual US states and Indian states all add their own, and no single list is right for everyone in a country.
