What time does the moon rise?

Moonrise for any place and date, with the phase and how much of the disc is lit — and an honest answer on the days when the moon does not rise at all.

Questions people ask

The things that come up about moonrise calculators, answered plainly.

Why is there no moonrise on some days?

Because the moon rises about 50 minutes later each day, so roughly once a month a rise falls off the end of a civil day and the next one is the following day. It is not an error — the page says so explicitly.

When does a full moon rise?

At about sunset, by definition: a full moon is opposite the sun, so it comes up as the sun goes down. A new moon rises at about sunrise, which is why it is invisible.
